Overview
After a proven track record of serving destinations, business districts, and associations nationwide, Saltwater Loyalty turned its sights on a white-label loyalty platform. The vision was to unify small businesses, spur local shopping, and support communities. With a short timeline and nationwide aspirations, we needed to co-create a platform, assets, and messaging to support this bold vision.
Saltwater Loyalty was founded with one big dream: to reward consumers for shopping locally through a new concept in retail loyalty. While the benefits for businesses and consumers are straightforward, converting both groups to this new concept was tricky. Consumers are demanding and resistant to change, and businesses are stretched so thin that any new process seems impossibly hard. Working with Saltwater Loyalty, our challenge was creating an easy-to-use app, white-label onboarding processes, and scalable materials that could convert the curious into customers and expand nationwide.
Our first action was collaborating with the stakeholders, small business owners, and consumers. From their perspectives, we sought to understand the benefits of Saltwater and the barriers to entry. Then, we applied what we had learned to develop simple yet impactful messaging and eye-popping imagery. We used these assets to create content of all types: in-store signage, email marketing, social media messaging, landing pages for partners, and a central web presence. In doing so, we secured the most critical element–ensuring everything could be scaled as Saltwater onboarded cities nationwide.
After identifying the needs and expectations of the two audiences (B2B and B2C), we went to work developing Saltwater's brand identity and story to effortlessly convey its goals while capturing new clients.
