Jason Gilbert

Founder/Principal

A native of Southern California, Jason has spent his career as an entrepreneur and an intrepid innovator. Since founding The Ocean Group, his clients have included Coca-Cola, Adobe, Microsoft, BEHR, Paramount, Sony, and New Balance. As an executive, Jason is known for building outstanding teams, being a master connector, and unflappable leader in the ever-accelerating digital landscape.

FUN FACTS:

In second grade, Jason taught himself to surf by paddling out with the big boys and working tirelessly until he could keep up.

Brad Stanley

Creative Director

A proud Art Center alum, Brad’s ability to bring a client’s fuzzy vision to life is unparalleled. His photography and cinematography chops include over 200 movies and commercials. As a digital marketing expert, Brad has conceived websites, apps, and physical assets for fashion, healthcare, finance, and consumer goods companies.

FUN FACTS:

Besides being an avid surfer, Brad is a nationally ranked Master’s Swimmer and cancer survivor.

Jennifer Gilbert

Brand Strategist

A relentless visionary and passionate advocate of marketing for good, Jennifer’s background in branding, advertising, experiential marketing, entertainment, and sustainability brings a unique perspective to her brand building work. Some past clients include Toyota, the American Music Awards, and H&M. A gifted public speaker, she has presented at the United Nations NGO Conference and Fashion Institute of Technology.

FUN FACTS:

The daughter of an architect, Jennifer is a gifted designer who can take any room from sorry to spectacular.

Jose Martinez

Technology Director

A graduate of the University of Southern California and bilingual in English and Spanish, Jose has led software teams for over 15 years. A hands-on developer, Jose is a master at meeting clients' needs as cleanly and efficiently as possible. With experience such as iHeartMedia and Cooking.com, Jose’s experience is vast and deep.

FUN FACTS:

When not tinkering with electronics or exploring technology, Jose is known to DJ house parties across the Southland.

Amelia Dalgaard

Storyteller

A fearless explorer of words, Amelia is motivated by new ways to spin up the same ideas and giving fresh voices to old problems. In addition to digital copywriting, Amelia’s narrative experience includes script writing and development, white papers, and executive presentations.

FUN FACTS:

Amelia’s linguistic prowess includes Danish, Japanese, and Russian.

Sunnie Choi

Controller

A certified accountant with over 20 years under her belt, Sunnie is our money master. But don't look for Sunnie to hop on any calls, she enjoys being the quiet help behind the scenes. Also, don't look for Sunnie for Olympic breakdancing, that's the other Sunnie Choi.

FUN FACTS:

As a child, Sunnie played all of the games shown in Netflix's "Squid Games"—with less dire consequences.
