To gain experience, Jason joined a large web design agency. He loved his work, but with one big exception. He wasn’t convinced that this conventional model was best for his clients or the industry’s evolution. Limited services, inefficient, slow, and wasteful, with considerable overhead, made it impossible to service small to mid-sized companies looking for an agency partner to grow alongside them. He envisioned a new type of agency—one that was lean and agile, where he could always have the best-in-class talent and offer a wide range of services, making digital greatness attainable to all businesses no matter what size.

When contemplating the agency name, Jason, an avid surfer, understood the power and mystery of the ocean and the magic beneath its surface. As an excellent metaphor for the digital world, The Ocean Group name was coined, and a new agency was born.
